Quality Assurance at KaiSpeed

At KaiSpeed, quality is engineered into every step—from RFQ to final inspection. Our quality management system operates to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 (certificate available on request), with risk-based thinking, process controls, and continuous improvement built in. The result: consistent parts, predictable schedules, and clear communication.

Our Quality Management System

KaiSpeed pursues continuous improvement from prototype through production across CNC machining, sheet-metal coordination, and finishing. Our quality controls are built on documented procedures, trained personnel, calibrated equipment, and risk-based planning to ensure every lot meets print, schedule, and compliance requirements.

  • DFM & contract review for every RFQ/PO, with clear specs and acceptance criteria

  • Process control plans tied to key characteristics and risk level (FAI/IPQC/OQC)

  • Work instructions & setup sheets at the machine/operator level

  • Competency & training records for operators, inspectors, and programmers

  • Calibrated metrology with traceable certificates and recall schedules

  • Change control (ECR/ECO) and controlled revisions for drawings/CAM/programs

  • Nonconformance control (NCR), MRB & CAPA using root-cause methods (5-Why/8D)

  • Supplier quality management: onboarding, audits, scorecards, and re-qualification

  • Document & data control with secure, access-limited storage and retention

Advanced inspection resources—such as CMM, surface roughness and hardness testing, and spectrometer-based material verification (as required)—support objective evidence of conformity. We provide FAI and dimensional reports, material/finish certificates, and COC/COA upon request.

Self-Owned Facilities & Manufacturing Network

KaiSpeed combines in-house production with a vetted partner network to deliver parts to spec, on time, and within budget. Our facilities run modern CNC equipment with controlled programs, validated fixturing, and documented work instructions, while qualified partners extend capacity for secondary operations and specialized processes.

Direct control of machining and critical steps lets us maintain tight process discipline—traceability, faster feedback loops, and quicker CAPA when needed. The network adds flexibility for surge demand and niche capabilities, so you don’t trade quality for speed or cost.

  • CNC machining: milling (3/4/5-axis), turning, mill-turn, Swiss-type, WEDM/EDM

  • Sheet-metal support: laser cutting, CNC bending, welding

  • Finishing via certified partners: anodizing, plating, hardening, coating, surface prep

  • Extended on request: 3D printing, vacuum casting, rapid tooling & injection molding

Our Production Flow

Standard Inspection Flow

We verify conformance from incoming material to final shipment. Each step is executed by trained operators using calibrated gauges and documented control plans, ensuring traceability and repeatable quality.
Material Verification

Review mill test reports (MTRs) and identify heat/lot numbers; perform spectrometer analysis where required to confirm alloy composition meets specification.

Visual Inspection

Check cosmetic and surface conditions—free of scratches, dents, unevenness, burrs, and contamination—before and after finishing to ensure a clean, consistent appearance.

Dimensional Measurement

Measure features per drawing and control plan using calibrated calipers, micrometers, gauges, and (when specified) CMM and surface-roughness tests. Results are recorded against the latest revision.

Functional Verification

Validate threads, fits, torque, sealing/leak tests, or assembly checks as applicable so the parts perform their intended function reliably.

Property Testing

Verify required physical/mechanical properties—e.g., hardness, coating thickness, conductivity, or others—per specification, with test reports available on request.

Continuous Improvement

We run internal audits, layered process audits, and corrective actions to eliminate root causes—not just symptoms. Feedback loops from customers and operators inform fixture design, toolpath strategy, inspection frequency, and packaging methods to drive steady gains in capability, yield, and lead time.

  • DFM review for every project

  • Contract & purchase order review prior to release

  • Production capacity & master scheduling (PMC) verification

  • Incoming raw-material inspection and identification

  • First-article (FAI) and in-process inspection (IPQC) per control plan

  • Nonconformance control, MRB, and CAPA (corrective & preventive actions)

  • Final inspection (OQC), test reports, and required certifications

  • Biannual customer-satisfaction surveys, with actions to exceed expectations
