What Is Die Casting?
Die casting injects molten aluminum, magnesium, or zinc alloys into a hardened steel die at high pressure and high speed, producing near-net-shape parts with excellent repeatability and surface quality.
Cold-chamber: typically for Al/Mg.
Hot-chamber: typically for Zn (Zamak/ZA series).
After solidification, the shot is ejected, trimmed, and (where required) CNC-finished and coated—ideal for medium to high volumes where unit economics and cosmetics matter.
Robotics & UAV
Lightweight chassis, gimbal arms, joint housings. Magnesium/aluminum enable thin walls with high stiffness; CNC finishing controls alignment, flatness, and bearing fits.
Telecom & 5G
RF shields, outdoor base-station enclosures, heat-spreader housings. Die casting pairs thermal performance with EMI control; conductive chromate and gasket lands support environmental sealing (IP).
Appliances & Power Tools
Gear cases, motor housings, handles, decorative trims. Zinc for tactile/precise features and aluminum for strength-to-weight; durable textures (VDI/Mold-Tech) and powder-coat finishes.
Energy & HVAC
Compressor and pump housings, blower wheels, control enclosures. Pressure-tight designs with porosity control; corrosion-resistant coatings and leak testing.
Applications of Die Casting
Die casting is precise, repeatable, and cost-effective for strong, detailed parts at scale. KaiSpeed helps teams turn complex designs into production-ready metal components—fast.
Automotive & E-Mobility
Engine/transmission covers, motor housings, inverter/ECU enclosures, brackets. Aluminum (A380/A360) and magnesium (AM60/AZ91D) deliver stiffness-to-weight, thermal management, and repeatability; leak/pressure tests and vacuum assist available.
Consumer Electronics & IoT
Thin-wall frames, device enclosures, connector nests, hinge arms. Zinc (Zamak 3/5) enables crisp details and tight as-cast tolerances; aluminum supports heat dissipation and EMI/EMC strategies with conductive finishes.
Lighting & Electrical
LED heat sinks, luminaire housings, junction boxes. Aluminum die casting provides excellent thermal conductivity and robust cosmetics; powder coat, anodize, or chromate conversion for durability and appearance.
Medical & Life Sciences
Pump bodies, instrument housings, ergonomic handles, fixture components. Cleanable surfaces, consistent geometry, and documented traceability; electropolish/anodize/chromate options and CMM/FAI reports on request.
Industrial Machinery & Automation
Gearbox covers, motor end bells, manifolds, valve bodies, machine frames. High strength and stability with cast-in features (bosses, ribs, inserts) to reduce secondary ops; post-machining for precision bores and sealing lands.

How to Work With Us
01. Share CAD & Requirements
Send STEP + PDF with: alloy (Al/Mg/Zn), finish/coating, target volumes (EAU & order qty), CTQs/GD&T
02. DFM Review & Quote
You’ll receive an engineer-led DFM pack: gate/overflow/vent plan, draft/wall/radii review, parting & ejector layout, vacuum-assist/porosity strategy, tool concept (single/multi-cavity/family; hot vs. cold chamber), finish stack, and a schedule through T1 with pricing.
03. Tool Build & T1 Samples
Steel die manufacture → tryouts → T1 parts with photos, dimensional summary (FAI/CMM), and cosmetic assessment. We iterate to T2/T3 as needed until specs and appearance are approved.
04. Production & Delivery
Cast → trim/deburr/shot-blast → CNC post-machine critical features → surface finish (powder coat…) → insert/assembly → QC report→ pack & ship with MTR/CoC and requested reports.
FAQs
A process that injects molten metal into a hardened steel die at high pressure and speed for repeatable, near-net parts. Cold-chamber is used for Al/Mg; hot-chamber for Zn.
DFM for uniform walls, correct gating/overflow/venting, vacuum assist where needed, optimized shot profiles, and heat management. For sealing surfaces we can post-machine and, if required, discuss impregnation.
Yes—routine for tight bores, flatness, threads, and gasket lands. We provide complete machining + inspection.
Casting excels for thin walls, complex geometry/undercuts, and better unit cost at volume. Very large or highly contoured parts are often only practical by casting; CNC then finishes the critical features.
Yes—via bridge tooling, smart gating, and (for investment casting) printed patterns when appropriate. We’ll suggest the most cost-effective path for your quantity and timeline.
Absolutely. We routinely CNC post-machine castings (drill/tap/mill/ream/spot-face), add threaded inserts, and apply coatings/assembly to deliver parts ready for line-fit.
We support prototyping and pilots; economically, casting typically makes sense at ~10 pcs and up. Share your volume roadmap—we’ll propose the best route (casting vs. CNC vs. other processes).
